Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Regional Program South Mediterranean organized with the help of co-opinion an Expert Roundtable 17-20 August 2017 in Hammamet Tunisia.

The roundtable brought together policy-makers, academics, distinguished representatives of prominent think-tanks, and private sector representatives in order to contemplate socially innovative methods to provide solutions to unemployment and lack of job generation opportunities in the Mediterranean region. The purpose of the event is to discuss short-term and long-term policy recommendations that will be delivered to policymakers and to catalyze new action through convening critical stakeholders and partners.

The workshop will highlight the role of the private sector in enhancing job prospects for the region that will render young people more employable via capacity building, vocational training and coaching practices, and discuss the importance of aligning the university curricula with the needs of the labor markets with a strong emphasis on Industry 4.0 and innovation.
